The One with the Adler Family Session
December 15, 2009I just love returning clients. Their sessions always feel like seeing old friends and you spend the time just catching up. Heidi and Scott were such a great family to shoot last year if you remember from their post here. It was such a treat to see how much their sons, Max and Merik, had grown up in the past year! Adam and I had such a great time at Salt Creek Beach and then romping around the Ritz-Carlton in Dana Point with the Adlers.
…pausing from playing in the sand every once in awhile to smile for the camera…
Heidi and Scott, thank you so much for sharing Max and Merik with us again for an afternoon! We had such a blast!
The One with the Adams Family Session
December 14, 2009At every school there are substitute teachers that sub so often that they are just a part of the family and you don’t really ever see them as otherwise. Lisa Adams is not only a proud McMillin parent, she happens to be part of the McMillin family. Having one of her twin daughters in my class a couple of years ago was such a treat and I was so honored when she asked me to help get holiday photos for her family. So we headed out to Imperial Beach and had a great time playing in the sand and sun - the beauty and essence of my home sweet home, San Diego.
I always wanted to get “under the pier” shots. Loved these.
We wanted to see if Bryce could go faster than my camera could capture him. I think my camera won.
Lisa with her 3 kids - Cailee, Bryce and Cassidy.
There was this huge mound of sand, so what better to do than to jump off of it?!
Lisa and Brent, thank you so much for spending a sunny afternoon with us! We had a blast with Cailee, Cassidy and Bryce!
The One with the Nelson Family Session
December 13, 2009Hands down this was one of my favorite family sessions of the year. We drove up to LA to shoot at the Nelson family home and we were so blessed by Melissa and Lonnie’s little boy, Cameron. He was SO cooperative and loved being in front of the camera. Lonnie told us that Melissa has taken thousands of photos of their son ever since he was born and that Cameron is well-trained for taking pictures.
Cameron is such a happy kid and we were so blessed to share an afternoon with him. The Nelson family home is filled with so many family photos and I feel completely honored to be able to add to them with this session.
Cameron was so stylish and well-dressed. Adam kept saying how jealous he was of how Cameron’s better dressed that he is.
They had a change of clothes and wow… doesn’t father and son look so debonair?
Not only did they both have pin-stripes, they were matching all the way down to their shoes!
Melissa and Lonnie, thank you so much for having us and sharing Cameron with us for an afternoon!
The One with Barb & Rowell’s Wedding
December 5, 2009Barb and Rowell’s wedding day started at the All Hallows Catholic Church in La Jolla. We took photos at Mt. Soledad and Harbor Island. Their reception was held on The Island Club on North Island Coronado Base. They celebrated their special day surrounded by so many friends and family. It was such an honor to be able to capture their special day!
Loved the big window in the church.
Then we headed to Mt. Soledad to get some photos. This was the first time I’ve been back here since Adam proposed to me back in 2007. It was definitely a sentimental moment for me.
On the same spot Adam got down on one knee to propose to me. It gives me so much joy to be able to capture the love of another couple in the same location. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it!
After Mt. Soledad, we headed down to Harbor Island back to the spot where Rowell proposed to Barb.
This was also my 1st wedding shooting with Adam. He came along to help with the photobooth and I think he did a fantastic job! Here are some of the shots:
Barb and Rowell, thank you so much for sharing your day with us! Special thanks to Daniel Galang for his help again!
The One with the Guerrero Family
December 1, 2009I believe that God brings people into our lives for a reason. Last year, when Adam and I were hosting a small group, we had ONE couple show up. Just ONE. And even though they were the only people on the 1st night, they came back for the rest of the 10 weeks. Even though we knew absolutely nothing about parenting (but wanted to learn from Chip Ingram’s DVDs), they kept coming back. When our small group ended, Jan and Carlos joined our other small group and now we can’t imagine our small group without them. They have blessed our lives so much with their wisdom, prayer and encouragement.
We got together for a family session in Coronado with their son, Angel. We have gotten to know Angel at our small group over the past year and I knew going in that it would be a fun-filled afternoon. This was definitely one of the most energy-packed sessions I’ve ever had! If Angel wasn’t being twirled, spun, or thrown up in the air, he was running or chasing. I was definitely tired afterwards! I’m guessing that life is never boring in the Guerrero home.
This is definitely one of my favorite views of the city that I love.
One of the few still shots. Definitely my fave from the day.
Jan and Carlos, thank you so much for being such a blessing in our lives!
