Jasmine Star has been such a blessing in my life in so many ways. Her blog was the first photographer’s blog that I started actively following way back in 2006. My friends, Mike and Kelly, were getting married and they had the Boutwell’s as their wedding photographer. When their engagement photos were posted on the Boutwells’ blog, I noticed they had a list of other photographer’s blogs and I couldn’t help but be drawn first to “Jasmine Star” because she and I shared a name. And a pretty awesome one at that.
Since then, I’ve shared a Starbox Lunch with her and have seen her speak at many different speaking engagements like a San Diego PUG meeting and the Free to Succeed Tour. Each time I listen to her speak, I am always so inspired by the way that God continues to move in her life - not only as a photographer, but as a person.
When she started having workshops, they were selling out so quickly that each time I wanted to sign up, I’d always miss out because I’d be away from my facebook/twitter during the day. You know, someone’s gotta teach the kids. Luckily, when this last workshop was posted, I just SO happened to be on my fb and signed up within minutes!
It was such an amazing day at the workshop. I am so excited to really work on my branding and really figuring out and defining who “Jasmine Marie Photography” really is. It’s been a difficult process, but one that I am embracing and actually looking forward to.
One of the best parts of the workshop was being able to shoot side-by-side with Jasmine and really picking her brain to get a glimpse of what she’s thinking when she’s shooting. It was super hot, but Melinda and Vern were such troopers and so much fun to shoot. The ever-so-sweet and uberly-talent Vivian Tran of All Made Up team did the make-up and Carissa of JL Designs made the beautiful bouquet. So much talent!
Look at those eyes! Gorgeous!

I loved the way her dress twirled in this picture.

Thanks, Jasmine! You are such a rock star!
